Links: I've been trying to sort out all the video formats since I set up web servers to support video in 1996. I am not an expert on compression CODECs or the technical aspects of creating it only how to make it accessible and use it. Over the last 15 years it has resulted in proliferation of pages on the subject at this site. They really need to be reorganized, but I don't have time now. Sorry.
