Backup Thermostat for Power Outage

The ecobee thermostat will stop working with a power outage.
You can use the old thermostat.
You can switch to the old thermostat by connecting it to a switch under the heater with a telephone cord. Switch it to Emerson.
The old thermostat and cord is in the cabinet under the TV.

Put the old thermostat on the table against the wall in the kitchen or anyplace else it is conveniewnt.
Run the cord (an old phone cord) over to a black box at the bottom of the heater on the living room side.
You can run it under the heater so it is out of the way. Plug the cable into the jack on the side of the black box. Move the switch to Emerson.

You can just switch it back to ecobee when the power comes on.
