The April issue of Backpacker Magazine is their annual Gear Guide.

The snow depth as of the middle of April is the highest since 2006, when we still had snow on some of the trails in July.

If you haven't made your airline reservations yet, you should plan to get to the lodge by 4 PM Sunday June, 27 when we will have an introductory meeting with refreshments. PS: On our first overnight to Sand Ridge Lake we will be going by the spot where, last month, my son, a member of the National Nordic Ski Patrol, was the first rescuer to reach a snowshoer who was lost in a snow storm and 4 deg. temperatures for two nights.
