Emergency Evacuation:
According to the Truckee Fire Protection District there are REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority) Careflight helicopters in Truckee and Reno and A CalStar helicopter in Auburn which can reach most areas in 15 min. for serious emergencies. There is also a California Highway Patrol helicopter in Auburn also and their services are free.
15 minutes is an optimistic time extraction , there are places where there are no good landing locations and in vacation season it is also possible for the helicopters to be in use. Also, cell phone service may not be available in some areas, so you should be prepared for a longer period of emergency treatment.
