Chinese Therapy Balls are also called baoding balls, Chinese health balls, Chinese medicine balls and Chinese meditation balls, exercise balls, and stress balls. Chinese name: 保定健身球; (Bǎodìng Jiànshēn Qiú)
There are two main uses:
Though unsupported by scientific evidence, baoding balls are thought to exercise hand muscles, improve brain function and reduce stress when used as alternative medicine to stimulate the acupuncture points on the hand.
Typically 1 1/2 in (38 mm) in diameter, they range from 35-50 mm
They come in chrome and enameled metal. Meditation balls are hollow with a mechanism which creates a chime that rings. Typically each ball has a chime with different tone and they resonate. They can also be used with the MELT method which uses soft balls and rollers on the hands, feet and back to stimulate the connective tissue cells and you also wake up the aspects of your nervous system that allow you to sense and feel your body while quieting down the stress levels. How to use: Meditation use - Balls are rotated without squeezing them and as you get better you can rotate them without touching them together. Therapy use - Balls are squeezed together while rotating.

Stress Ball: A stress ball is squeezed in the hand and manipulated by the fingers, ostensibly to either help relieve stress and muscle tension or to exercise the muscles of the hand.
