Dinsmore Golf Course is the third oldest golf course in the country. Built as a private 9-hole course in the 1890s, it was an amenity to the estates of the Dinsmore, Hoyt and Mills families.

  Blue Trail - Old Carriage Road (2.4 mi one-way)
Moderate to steep walking.
Rolling hills on paved and woods roads
with river views.

   White Trail (Orange on map) (1.75 mi one-way)
Moderate walking along river path.
From  Mills Mansion take Blue Trail
to White Trail.

Ogden Mills and his wife Ruth Livingston, who inherited the property, built the house in 1895-96 and furnished in the styles of Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI.
Ogden got his money from his Grandfather, Darius Ogden Mills, who was a banker and Railroad owner in Northern California in the 1860's
The Norrie Point Environmental Center serves as the headquarters of the NYSDEC Hudson River Research Reserve. Norrie Point is a platform for hands-on, field-based school and public education programs, research, and training. Come see our Hudson River Estuary displays, learn about our other free public programs, and view some of the amazing fish that make the Hudson River their home.
