The Patriots are in the Atlantic League, an Independent League not associated with any Major League team. They were managed by New York Yankees legend Sparky Lyle from 1998 through 2012. They include players from double A and triple A minor league teams. My nephew, who played for them, said they were better than the Giants AAA team he played on. In 2008 they had 4 players who had played in the majors.
They have won five Atlantic League Championships (2001, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009) in their 16 years of existence.
