Marconi
Guglielmo Marconi, inventer of wireless telegraphy, settled in the Somerset section of Franklin in 1913. He built an impressive relay station marked by a mile-long, 440 foot high cable antenna. At the time it was the most powerful in the world, blasting wireless messages worldwide. See MarconiCalling.com.
