A day after Hurricane Irene in 2011, I was still out of service.
They had nothing posted on their web site on restoral efforts.
I called customer support and they said they had no estimated time to repair. They said to just keep trying.
Services (TV, Internet and Phone) may be restored one at a time.
I did not have to power cycle my WebStar DPC/EPC2100 modem. The cable light went from blinking to solid when the services came back.

They posted the following message 40 hrs. after the storm.
Subject: Important Post-Storm Customer Service Update
Date: Monday, August 29, 2011 8:39 PM

It's been a difficult few days for Cablevision customers as Hurricane Irene moved through our area.

Thousands of Cablevision employees have been working around the clock to restore service to Optimum® customers affected by the storm, while our award-winning News 12 news teams have provided 24-7 live coverage of Irene and its effects on our communities. Cablevision is doing everything possible to get things back to normal.

As a local company headquartered here in the tri-state region, we strive every day to exceed the expectations of our customers and neighbors in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. For us, this storm has provided a real opportunity to demonstrate how important your business is to us.

We understand how much you rely on our television, Internet and phone service, and we take this responsibility seriously. Even before the storm hit, we were working with local authorities to be able to deliver and restore these vital services to you as soon as possible.

Fortunately, Cablevision's core digital network — the infrastructure our residential and business customers rely on — withstood the hurricane, despite the many challenges across our service area. And as things return to normal, please know that we will not rest until service has been restored to all our customers.

All of us here at Cablevision appreciate your patience and support.

Thank you.
