Good News! 1. It was 72 deg. Monday 6/7 at Donner Summit and will be in the high 50s and 60s for the rest of the week. The snow is melting.
2. I've reserved the Cal Lodge (http://www.callodge.org/ - 530-426-9900) for Sunday night.
It is the driveway on the left (coming from I-80) just past the Clair Tappaan Lodge. You can drive up and park by the lodge. See the map at We'll move to Clair Tappaan (a one block walk away) on Monday. You can leave things in your room at Clair Tappaan while backpacking. The doors do not have locks. There are lockers you can use if you bring your own locks. I'll be leaving for my son's graduation in California tomorrow and be out there until our trip, so use my cell phone number 848 203-4814. I'll still be checking voice mail on my regular number.
