Please note that all transportation to the lodge, trailheads, or other activities is the responsibility of each trip member. Leaders are unable to arrange carpools for participants, because of Sierra Club liability. Those arriving by air should plan to rent a car or take a shuttle/taxi or make their own arrangements to carpool with other trip participants.

There is NO public transportation from the Reno airport to the lodge.
There are busses to Truckee; From there you can get a cab ($30-40) for the 15-20 min. ride to the Lodge.

The trailheads are within 5 miles (one way). We ask participants to carpool and donate some money for the drivers.

The trip officially beings at 4 pm on Sunday, June 27 It is recommended you arrive a little early to unpack and get oriented. We will meet in the living room (Lewis & Clark Room) with some snacks and refreshments and spend some time getting acquainted before dinner is served at 6 p.m. Our last meal of the trip will be breakfast on the trail Saturday, July 3rd, although you will have the option of packing a sack lunch to take with you.

Let Francy know what kind of soda/juice you prefer. If you'd like something stronger you welcome to bring it.

If you are planning to stay at the lodge either before the trip begins or after it ends, please arrange for the lodge staff, (800) 679-6775, to bill you separately for those nights.

PS: Some of you got an equipment list which referred to money for the free day activities. There is no free day on this trip. You can also ignore the motion sickness warning we are not taking any winding roads.
