If you must cancel from the trip, contact the Outing Department (415.977.5522 - national.outings@sierraclub.org) promptly to minimize your cancellation fee and so that others on the waitlist may have a chance to participate.

In past years we had a fairly strict policy of not cancelling domestic trips until 1 month prior to trip departure, because a lot of sign ups came in late.

Due to the global financial crisis in 2009, our situation is different. Every trip is being treated on a case by case basis, and we are definitely cancelling further in advance.
We will probably make cancellation decisions 2 months prior to departure.
