Hi, everyone!

Here's some last minute information.

If you are arriving before Sunday or staying after Saturday or if you want to request a particular room assignment, you should contact the lodge (800) 679-6775 ctl@sierraclub.org
to arrange for rooms . Sometimes room assignment cannot be requested until the day before the trip.
See donsnotes.com/ctl/index.html#rooms for a list of the choices.

Directions:
The lodge is at 19940 Donner Pass Road (old Hwy 40), Soda Springs.
I-80 exit 174-Soda Springs/Norden 12 mi. west of Truckee. Go 2.4 miles east on Donner Pass Rd.
Note: There has been some construction at this exit with random closures, you may have to go to the next exit and come back.
The top of the same web page (donsnotes.com/ctl/index.html) has directions.

When you arrive at the parking lot to the lodge, there is a steep climb on a dirt path of about 500 feet to the front door. If you do not have wheels on your luggage, it might be easier to carry two lighter pieces rather than one heavy one.

Check-in:
Go to the top of the stairs, turn right and the office will be on your right.
If no one is in the office procede down the stairs and next to the telephone on the left is a room assignment sheet. See floor plan

Start and End:
The trip officially beings at 4 pm on Sunday with introductions and snacks in the Living Room (Lewis & Clark). Dinner is at 6 and we will go over the schedule for the week at 7:30.
Our last meal of the trip will be breakfast on Saturday although you will have the option of packing a sack lunch to take with you.

Responsibilities:
We are volunteer Sierra Club trip leaders. We are not geologists, botanists, historians or entertainers. We will plan the trip and handle logistics (schedules, directions, ...). Our primary job is to keep you safe, informed about plans, help with any questions.
Your primary job is to have fun. Give us feedback on how things are going. I also expect you to be courteous and flexible, to be in good condition, to be on time, to participate in the meal preparation and clean up chores, to act safely, and to have the appropriate gear.

We are going to have speakers one or two evenings, but the rest of the evening time will be open. If you have anything you want to offer to the group such as music, knowledge of nature, photography or conservation issues to discuss, I welcome your contributions.

See you a week from Sunday, Don McBride (732) 560-0369 cell: 848 203-4814

PS: Cell phone service is spotty in the lodge, so you may not be able to reach me. You can usually get your phone to work out on the balcony or in the parking lot.

See donsnotes.com/ctl/50prtr/index.html for old correspondence.
