Focus on the Family's "The Truth Project" is a DVD series taught by Dr. Del Tackett of the Focus on the Family Institute.
The program is a media-rich presentation of the Christian worldview according to Dr. Tackett and others at Focus on the Family, including their views on philosophy, science, and sociology. It pushes a strong bifurcation between "the true worldview" and "the false worldviews,"

In Lesson 5 -"Science: What is true" they conclude with a Søren Løvtrup quote from Darwinism : The Refutation of a Myth,

"I believe that one day the Darwinian myth will be ranked the greatest deceit in the history of science"

And say, "This is a worldview battle - a battle that is much deeper than a scientific theory - Evolution destroys any foundation for a standard of ethics or morality - man has exchanged the truth of God for a lie (evolution) so that he may be free to follow his inner desires."

It makes a big deal out of the Intelligent Design - Evolution issue.

They say "Darwinists so fervently assert that "evolution is no longer merely a theory, but an established fact." But the truth of the matter, as Dr. Tackett and his guest experts demonstrate in great detail, is that the theory is not supported by the evidence. Many inside the scientific community are beginning to recognize this. But they dare not acknowledge it publicly because of the worldview issues at stake. As Dr. David Berlinski says, "The consequences are serious."

The notes say "Fallen man ignores the plain evidence of objective scientific inquiry and promotes the atheistic philosophy of evolutionary theory primarily because he is determined to do as he pleases without answering to a higher authority. This charge may make some group participants uncomfortable precisely because it hits so close to home. Dr. Tackett also illustrates the point that ideas have consequences by drawing a historical connection between Darwinian theory and the horrors of Nazi Germany."

I personally didn't like the implication that scientists were anti-religious, with the constant emphasis on "Carl Segan" and the implication that evolution was some plot to discredit Christianity. I thought that was like using Jim Bakker as an example for the hypocrisy of Christians.

Do you think that "Theistic Evolution", the belief that God created the natural laws that lead to the creation of man with that idea in mind, but he allowed the natural processes he created to work on their own for the most part, which is taught in most main line theological seminaries and was espoused by Rev. Sue Pizor Yodor in our Disciple Class and by other clergy I have talked to about it is wrong?
If so, should the "conservative Christians", be more vocal in criticizing the main liners for false teaching?

Do you think Del Tackett or his staff know enough about microbiology to make the determination that Michael Behe was right with the concept of Irreducible Complexity in his book "Darwins Black Box" but was wrong in his next book, "The Edge of Evolution" where he says we definitely have an ancestor of different species and probably of a different genus?

Dr. Tackett also illustrates the point that ideas have consequences by drawing a historical connection between Darwinian theory and the horrors of Nazi Germany. Is he using the same kind of hyperbole as Segan?

With the aim of becoming a clergyman Charles Darwin went to the University of Cambridge for the required BA degree, which included studies of Anglican theology. He says in his autobiography "Whilst on board the Beagle I was quite orthodox, and I remember being heartily laughed at by several of the officers (though themselves orthodox) for quoting the Bible as an unanswerable authority on some point of morality."
His remains, were interred beside Sir Isaac Newton in the church of Westminster Abbey.
In The Survival of Charles Darwin, Ronald W. Clark, 1984 he quotes Darwin: "It never struck me how illogical it was to say that I believed in what I could not understand and what is in fact unintelligible. I might have said with entire truth that I had no wish to dispute any dogma; but I never was such a fool as to feel and say 'credo quia incredibile' [I believe because it is incredible]."

Do you think he came up with the theory of evolution with the motive of contradicting the Bible?

When Bob Jacobs, fresh out of seminary, asked Bruce Metzger (considered by many if not most the top New Testament scolar of his time) the "inerrancy and authority" question at one of our adult education classes Metzger said flat out "There are errors in the Bible". He went on to say they were not significant to the meaning and the Bible was amazingly consistent considering its authorship, ...
Do you think Barry Able is right "There are no errors in the Bible" and Metzger is wrong?

Do you think that many of the men at Willies and our Church who go around with their iPhones, taking their lipitor and at the same time say scientists don't know what they are doing are helping the reputation of Christians?

Do you think I waisted $200,000 helping my son (A theistic evolutionist of faith despite attending Jack Frost's Sunday School class) get a degree in biology and Neuroscience?

If my son develops a cure for Alzheimers (his current line of research) and you got Alzheimers would you refuse to use it because you can't trust scientists?
