Sourlands Mountain Preserve

EAST MOUNTAIN ROAD, HILLSBROUGH, Somerset Co., NJ
From 206 Southbound:
Follow Route 206 through Somerville and Hillsborough - approximately six miles from the Somerville Circle to Route 514 which is Amwell Road. Make a right turn onto Amwell Road and proceed two miles to East Mountain Road (611). Turn left onto East Mountain Road. Travel for one mile, and you will see the Sourland Mountain Preserve entrance sign on the right.


SOURLAND MOUNTAIN NATURE PRESERVE
Rileyville Road, East Amwell Township, Hunterdon Co.

Take Route 202/31 south from the Flemington Circle for 5 miles to the jughandle for Wertsville Road. Exit onto Wertsville Road (Route 602) and use the traffic light to crossover Route 202/31. Continue on Wertsville Road for about 3.3 miles to Rileyville Road (Route 607). Turn right onto Rileyville Road and go about 1.7 miles. The park entrance is on the left and is marked by a Green Acres Sign as well as a County Park Sign. The entrance is shared by two other driveways, continue up the center driveway to the small parking area. Do not block the gated access road.

Trails are easy or moderate on steep slopes, with plenty of pretty streams. A favorite spot for picnicking is at the top of the pipeline cut where, on a clear day, you can see New York. Many wildflowers, including the fussy showy orchis, bloom along the trails.
