It is hard to get statistics on site popularity (unique visitors). Most sites do not publish them. ComScore.coms and nielsen.com occasionally publishes some data, but I think you have to pay to get current data.
ComScore and Nielsen number are frequently off by 50% or more.
A 2006 entry at slate says, "It's obvious why nobody trusts site rankingsÑthe "official" numbers from Nielsen and comScore are often so far apart that you couldn't trust them even if you wanted to. But site owners have a real stake in these numbers. Advertisers use them to decide where to spend their budgets".
