This map was prepared by A. A. Boom (deceased) and appears in a manuscript and chapter 12, p. 118 of
"North of the Rariton Lotts: A history of Martinsville, NJ area
At that time Vosseller Ave was the "Mountain Road" to Basking Ridge referred to locally as the Basking Ridge Road (Washington's Letters). Washington's army was in this area in the summer of 1777 and winter of 1778-79. Genl. Wayne's Brigade of 500-600 men in Genl. Lincoln's Pennsylvania Division camped here in 1777.
