Classes of Medications
Analgesics: Includes many narcotics, such as morphine and codeine
Antianginals: Medicines that alleviate episodes of angina
   Beta Blockers (Drugs that can slow the heart rate, e.g. Inderal, Tenormin,
             acebutolol, metoprolol,  oxprenolol or sotalol.)
   Nitrates -  Nitroglycerin (glyceryl trinitrate),  pentaerythritol,
             tetranitrate, isosorbide dinitrate and isosorbide mononitrate
   Calcium channel blockers -  verapamil, amlodipine, nifedipine,  diltiazem. nifedipine

Antiarrhythmics: Heart drugs that can correct or prevent irregular heart beats (e.g. Digoxin)
Anticoagulants: Blood thinners, such as Coumadin (warfarin)
Anticonvulsants: Meds for seizure disorder and epilepsy
Antihistamines, Decongestants: Prescription or over-the-counter meds for allergic rhinitis
Antihypertensives: Blood pressure medicine
Chemotherapy Agents: Drugs for treating cancer or serious infectious diseases
Steroids: Cortisone, Decadron, etc.
Phosphodiesterase inhibitors: For erectile dysfunction (ED): Viagra, Cialis.
      It is important to list these in your medical record, because they can cause a serious
      drop in blood pressure if you are given nitroglycerine for a suspected heart attack.
